Barn Home Sample Budget

 

The barn home shown is currently being completed in Shelton, Wa.  The owners had an existing home on the property and chose to upgrade with a barn home and shop combination kit from Uncle Howard's.

The homeowners are acting as the general contractor, and are completing some of the finish work on the interior themselves.  Because there was an existing home on this site, there is already a well, septic system, and power in place.

The homeowners chose a 32x36 Western Classic with two 12x36 Sheds (2016 sqft on ground floor, 1152 in loft) for their barn home/shop combination.  Because Uncle Howard's Barn Home Kits have spacious, open floor plans, the configurations can vary significantly.  These homeowners choose a floorplan with a large shop area, a craft and sewing room, a commercial kitchen, and a full bath and laundry room on the first floor.  The loft area is open concept with a large master suite including a full bathroom and oversized walk in closets, a reading nook, office area, and a great room with a wet bar that leads to the outside deck.  The home features an abundance of natural light with a 16' vaulted ceiling in the loft. 

 

At 3168 sq. ft. of finished building, the total price per sq. ft. for this project is $48.68.
